Eisenacher Pilgerbibel – Die längste Bibel der Welt

Start: Reuterweg, Ziel: Elisabethplan
Noch nie zuvor wurde die gesamte Bibel in Bilder übersetzt. Willy Wiedmann wollte mit seinem opus magnum die Bibel allen Menschen zugänglich machen – unabhängig davon, welche Sprache sie sprechen. Mit der Ausstellung in Eisenach anlässlich des 500. Jubiläums der Bibelübersetzung durch Martin Luther auf der Wartburg wird die Wiedmann Bibel das erste Mal für einen längeren Zeitraum vollständig für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. Mit dieser Weise der Präsentation ermöglichen wir Ihnen auf dem Weg zur Wartburg eine 1,7 Kilometer lange interaktive Ausstellung mit allen 3.333 inspirierenden, biblischen Bildern der Bildwelt Wiedmanns, zum Schauplatz der lutherischen Übersetzung. Die Gesamtschau der Wiedmann Bibel als Eisenacher Pilgerbibel wird so zu einer Weltpremiere. Man könnte sagen: Luther und Wiedmann – Bibelübersetzung in Wort und Bild.

Preachment series "LebeWorte - Celebrities and their Bible Verses"

As part of the traditional church services at the Wartburg, there is a special way of encountering the texts of the Bible in the anniversary year. Celebrities from politics and culture talk about biblical texts that have shaped them or that have become important to them in their fields of work. Because: "God's word is not a word for reading, but a living word" (Martin Luther).

The church services usually take place on the last Sunday of the month at 6 p.m. in the ceremonial hall of the Wartburg.

Bible tasting "St. Luke's Gospel prepared by lovers of the Scriptures"

Over 60 preachers from all over Germany, as well as from Austria and England, will interpret almost the entire St. Luke's Gospel for our time. Among others, Margot Käßmann, Heinrich Bedford-Strohm, Friedrich Kramer and Nicolas Baines will be there. St. Luke's Gospel is one of the gospels that Martin Luther translated into German at the Wartburg 500 years ago. It contains numerous texts that are among the treasures of world literature.
