The probably narrowest half-timbered house in Germany
The probably narrowest half-timbered house in Germany which is only 2.05 meter wide is located at the Johannisplatz in Eisenach. Saved from the planned demolition in the 1970s thanks to private initiative, it enchants guests from near and far with its lovingly restored half-timbered façade
The "Narrow House" is said to be well over 250 years old. Locals and guests affectionately also call it "towel". And indeed, with a width of only 2.05 metres, it is hardly bigger than a bath towel. The curious building has a floor space of 20 m² and has two floors.
The house can only be viewed from the outside at the moment.
